As part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of the enthronement of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, ECOBANK and the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi are organising a special golf tournament for the youth dubbed “ECOBANK Asantehemaa Youth Golf Tournament on Saturday.”

About 120 youth golfers from Nsuta, Tema, Achimota, Tafo, Biege, Takoradi, Benso, Obuasi and Damang would be participating in the tournament which would be attended by the  Asantehene  Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and his mother, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaah Ampem II, in whose honour the competition is being played.

The competition is in response to Otumfuo’s request to focus more on upgrading the club’s youth development programme to whip up interest at that level.

Prizes will be given in three main categories: eight years and below, nine years and below, and 13 years and below.

The new manager of the club, Emmanuel Oteng-Aboagye, told the Daily Graphic, that ECOBANK was delighted at the opportunity to contribute to this worthy cause .

He said the tournamnet would  serve a dual purpose of enhancing the skills of young golfers and promoting the game of golf among the youth in the country.
