Ebenezer 'Oshogbo' Crassie wins 2023 African Games Theme Song

In resounding triumph, Ebenezer Crassie, the CEO of Music Klinic and a notable Ghanaian musician and songwriter, has emerged the winner of the Theme Song Competition organised by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 13th African Games.
A resident of Kasoa in the Central Region and an alumnus of St. Augustine’s College, Mr Crassie emerged victorious from a pool of over three hundred entries, clinching the winner's prize of GH¢40,000 in the process.

Selection
The selection process was meticulous, with a panel of music experts narrowing down the initial entries to a shortlist of 10, and subsequently, to a final three. From this elite group, Mr Crassie was chosen as the ultimate winner of the competition in which participants were tasked to compose songs that captured the essence of the upcoming African Games on the theme "Experience the African Dream."
The guidelines and prize details for the competition were unveiled on May 22 in the Daily Graphic, and as per the rules of engagement, the LOC now holds exclusive rights to the Theme Song.
In an interview, the elated winner, nicknamed Oshogbo, expressed his honour at producing the official theme song for the 13th African Games, particularly considering his extensive experience working with renowned figures in the music industry, including the Tagoe Sisters and Amakye Dede.
It’s an honour for me to emerge the overall winner of such a prestigious competition,” Mr Crassie stated.

Music career
A distinguished figure in the industry, Mr Crassie’s music journey began during his early years at St Augustine's College. Further education at the prestigious Wits University in Johannesburg marked a pivotal phase in his career.

Throughout his career, Mr Crassie has collaborated with renowned musicians and groups such as the Tagoe Sisters, Kofi B, Joyful Way Incorporated, K.K. Fosu, Lamisi, Sherifa Gunu, Rev Yawson, Ackah Blay and many others. His technical expertise and passion for music have proved invaluable in ensuring the success of the artistes.

Beyond his musical endeavours, Mr Crassie is a devoted family man married to Helena with whom he shares four children.
