Draught: All set for National ‘A’ Super 8 Competition
Some of the best players in local draught, including winners of major competitions, will compete one more time at Ashaley Botwe in Accra, courtesy the Botwe Draught Club, in a four-day National ‘A’ Super 8 Competition.
The championship will be staged on November 14, 15, 21 and 22 in what is expected to be the climax of the COVID-19 year’s draught competition.

It will feature Abu, Stephen (Ashanti Region), Addai, Polyfiller (Bono Region), Arday, Nii Aryee, Ortega and Lankai (Greater Accra).
Abu and Nii Aryee are multiple champions at different national competitions, while all of the other players have won competitions of different labels even if the stakes were not similarly high.
Prizes
At stake is GH¢1,000 for the winner, GH¢800 for the runner-up, GH¢600 for the second runner-up, and GH¢400 for the fourth place.
Each player will receive GH¢100 as appearance fee.
The notable absentee is Kick Away, the one man with an enduring presence lasting up to three decades in local draught.
It will, however, be the big stage that will truly welcome the likes of Addai and Polyfiller into the league of ‘A’ players as they dine on the high table with the crème de la crème.
Polyfiller, for instance, was star discovery at the National Top 16 Draught Championship at Ashaley Botwe in August this year when he kicked out Kick Away on his way to being adjudged the most exciting player at the competition, while Addai walloped Arday 5-0.
Addai reached the final against all odds in an impressive run that ended with defeat to Abu.
The National ‘A’ Super 8 Competition is the next stage.
