Dogboe signs long-term deal with Top Rank

World Boxing Organisation (WBO) super bantamweight champion, Isaac "Royal Storm" Dogboe, has signed a long-term promotional deal with boxing promotional firm, Top Rank.

Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs), who first signed with Bob Arum's Top Rank ahead of his world title fight with Jessie Magdaleno last April, was tied down to an extended contract with the American firm following his victory against Magdaleno and his successful title defence Hidenori Otake on August 25.

Yesterday, Dogboe and Bob Arum announced the deal, which will see Top Rank and Rising Star Africa Promotions (RSAP) have co-promotional rights over 24-year-old boxer with the prospects of defending his title in Ghana.

He wrote on his Twitter page that, "I am delighted to announce that I have extended my co-promotional agreement on a long-term deal with @trboxing. RSAP & I look forward to welcoming @BobArum & the Top Rank team in our beautiful country, Ghana next year".

Legendary American promoter Arum confirmed in a message on YouTube that the long-term deal would put Dogboe in a position to win world titles at different divisions, as well as the possibility of staging a world title fight in Ghana next year.

“We are very, very happy to announce that we have signed your world champion Isaac Dogboe to a co-promotional agreement with Rising Star Africa.

This is a long-term agreement, and together with Paul Dogboe [Isaac’s father, trainer and founder of Rising Star Africa] and Mike Altamura [Isaac’s matchmaker], we will afford Isaac opportunities to win championships in multiple divisions,” Arum said.

Earlier last Saturday, Arum announced he would pit undefeated Isaac against Filipino Genesis Servania (32-1, 15 KOs) on December 8 at the Madison Square Garden, New York.
