Dobgoe to fight Magdaleno in Kumasi?
The much-anticipated WBO Super Bantamweight Championship between Ghana's Isaac Dogboe and Mexican-American Jessie Magdaleno could be staged in Kumasi by May should an agreement be reached between both camps.
Rising Star Africa Promotions, promoters of Dogboe, are in negotiations with Magdaleno's Top Rank Promotions, Magdaleno’s camp to have the world title bout in Ghana, with talks quite advanced over that possibility.

Confirming the negotiations to the Graphic Sports, founder of the Rising Star Africa Promotions, Paul Dogboe, said he and matchmaker Michael Altamura were in talks with the promoters of Magdaleno as they hoped to reach an agreement in order to have the fight in the country.
"We are still negotiating to bring the mega fight between Dogboe and Jessie Magdaleno to Ghana and Kumasi to be precise, by May, if we can reach an agreement with Top Rank Promotions.
"So far, everything is moving on smoothly and we hope an agreement can be struck, so we host the fight. Else, we will see if we can go to Las Vegas for the fight at the end of discussions," Paul said.
Dogboe defeated Cesar Juarez of Mexico to win the WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title in Accra recently, to set up a date with injured Magdaleno in a WBO title clash.
The clash is expected to be an undisputed championship with the division currently possessing two champions in Magdaleno (25-0, 18KOs) for the WBO Super Bantamweight title and Dogboe (18-0, 12KOs) with the WBO Interim Super Bantamweight title.
An underdog, Dogboe produced a scintilating performance at the Bukom Boxing Arena when he knocked out Juarez in round Five with a powerful left hook that dazed and hurt his opponent, leaving him on the canvas.
Having already being knocked down in round two, referee Tony Weeks decided to end the bout prematurely, a decision which didn't go well with Juarez camp who complained of not being given a chance to continue the fight.
