The company, in a letter, has ordered its representatives, Cardinal Law Group, a legal firm, to demand $6,300 for the kit which included jerseys, footballs, travelling bags and first aid.

The company is demanding additional GH¢16,000 for the shipment of the items.

The letter, which was addressed to Mr Vincent Sowah Odotei, chairman of the Strategic Committee of the club, ordered Hearts to  pay for the items within the next 14 days or face the full rigours of the law.

In a telephone conversation last Thursday, Mr Odotei confirmed the issue, but insisted that the contract for the acquisition of the goods was signed before he took over as head of the committee.

He also said the products requested for in the contract were not what were provided, and all attempts to get a replacement from the kit company had failed.

“It is true that they provided the kit, but that was long before I took over, and per the contract, what they provided were not what we asked for”, Odotei explained.

Mr Odotei  also said all attempts to get the invoice for procurement and shipment from the company had proved futile.

“I asked Thelma to provide an invoice for the items, but he couldn’t do so.”
