The race brought activities in the city to a standstill with no vehicular traffic in sight during the period.

After a ride of over two hours across various suburbs in Tamale, the participants, who included men, women and children from all backgrounds converged on their start-off point at the Jubilee Park for a raffle draw, which saw over 20 riders walking away with Cowbell-branded bicycles and products.

Race organisers, Cowbell Ghana Limited, also presented over 200 cyclists with helmets in a bid to ensure cyclists in the region protect themselves as the caravan moves to the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday.

According to Mr Mohammed Inusah, the Events and Promotions Representative of Cowbell Ghana Limited, the mammoth turnout for the event was no surprise, given that Tamale is a city with a high bicycle and motorcycle usage.

He added that following the impressive turnout, his outfit was hopeful that all riders in the area and the country as a whole would wear helmets anytime they mounted a bicycle.
