Coach Tanko’s side gave away two late goals in injury time to finish the game 3-2 in a nervy encounter that forced the Black Meteors to sit back and defend in most part of the dying minutes.

After the game, the 46-year-old coach was unhappy his team lost concentration and played as though there was nothing at stake.

“I am so angry with my players. How could we fail to manage the game well and finish like this. I think my players had forgotten that they were playing a major tournament to let in two goals towards the end of the match” a disappointed Tanko said.

The former Borussia Dortmund player said it was important to drum home the essence of their participation in the tournament and promised to continue to remind the players why they were in the competition.

“We will remind them of the objectives that need to be achieved and the importance of our presence here,” added the coach.

He also praised the wingers for their creativity which led to the goals stating that “I liked the creativity our wingers showed.”

Interestingly Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, was at the Moulay Abdellah Sports complex in Rabat watching the progression of the younger players and could give some of them the opportunity in the next Black Stars call up.

Ghana could book a place in the semi final of the competition if they are able to beat hosts, Morocco, in their next Group A match to be played on Tuesday.
