Coach Fabin: My players disobeyed instructions
Coach of Legon Cities, Paa Kwasi Fabin, has blamed his side’s defeat to Kotoko last Saturday on his players' refusal to obey his instructions on the pitch.

He explained that if his boys were tactically disciplined and listened to what he told them during the interval, they wouldn’t have come from a goal up to lose 1-3 to Kotoko in their betPawa Premier League game at the Sogakope Park last Saturday.
Speaking during the post-match interview, the former Black Starlets coach said the team did not play as planned because the idea was to slow the game down in the second half and maintain possession to avoid the Porcupine Warriors from playing.
Coach Fabin said Kotoko were an experienced side with the potential of punishing you with the slightest opportunity and could not understand why his players would fail to hold on to the solitary lead but allowed Kotoko to punish them.
“We did well in the first half, I gave them specific instructions in the second half, they came, and they were doing different things and when you are playing against a team like Kotoko who are more experience, you’ll get punished and we got punished,” Coach Fabin said during the post-match interview.
The coach described his team as inexperienced and wondered how they could concede such goals, especially in the second half when they had managed to hold on to the solitary lead by keeping possession and slowing down the game.
“They are inexperience because when you are leading 1-0 and you come in the second half you need to slow the game down and that’s exactly what I told them let’s hold the ball, let’s slow it down and let’s play because Kotoko will come all guns blazing in the second half,” the coach stated.
The Legon Cities gaffer openly expressed his frustration over the attitude of his players and cited an instance of his left back who failed to tackle his opponent for Kotoko to score the second goal.
“I informed them that they (Kotoko) are going to change three players so everybody should pick them one-on-one and let’s play. Just look at the second goal, the left-back was just watching the ball for the guy to go and score. I mean what is this?” He queried.
Legon Cities have scored just one goal in five games making their scoring record one of the lowest in the league and the coach also promised to work on it to ensure they start scoring goals.
