Chelsea target Boakye Yiadom to join Chinese side Jiangsu Suning

Chelsea target Richmond Boakye Yiadom has snubbed a move to the Premier League - to join Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.

The Ghana striker caught the attention of Blues boss Antonio Conte with his goalscoring feats for Red Star Belgrade.

Conte previously signed Boakye for Juventus from Genoa in 2012.

West Brom also showed interest in the 25-year-old.

Boakye has now agreed a three-year deal with Jiangsu, who are managed by ex-England boss Fabio Capello.

The wealthy Super League outfit paid Chelsea £25million for Brazilian midfielder Ramires in 2016.

A Chinese league source said: "I can tell you for sure that Boakye is coming to China.

"An agreement has been reached between Jiangsu Suning and Red Star Belgrade.

"So, from next week, the deal will be announced."

Boakye hit 42 goals in 48 games for club and country in 2017. He has inspired Red Star to the top of the Serbian league with 23 in 28 so far this season.

The striker has already been tipped to move on to Inter Milan in the next few years.

The Serie A giants have been taken over by Jiangsu's owners, retail giants Suning.

Boakye has won 12 Ghana caps, scoring six goals for the Black Stars.

He has also played for Italian clubs Sassuolo, Atalanta and Latina, Spaniards Elche and Dutch side Roda JC Kerkrade.
