Bechem Utd promoted to the Premier League

Bechem United have made a quick return to the Premier League, just one season after they were relegated from the top-flight.

On the second day of the Division One play-offs, Bechem beat Guan United 1-0 in their clash at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipon last Saturday.

The win, their second in the Zone 1 promotion campaign, leave them top of the standings with six points with a game in hand.

Irrespective of the results of the final day matches, the Bechem lads, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, will win the group via the head-to-head rule after winning against B.A. United and Guan United.

In the other fixture, B.A. United defeated Yassin FC 2-0 at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast but their hopes of a return to the Premier League were dashed following Bechem's victory at Essipon..

The win was B.A.'s first in the play-offs, while Yassin have lost both games.

Bechem have now joined Inter Allies as the two sides to secured qualification for next season's Premier League with a third qualifying spot yet to be decided in Zone 2.
