Asibey eyes Black Stars call-up

Hearts of Oak centre-back Kelvin Osei Asibey says he will readily answer the national call if given an opportunity to represent Ghana at the senior national team level.

The defender has been in impressive form for the Phobians this season, helping his side maintain one of the strongest defensive records in the Premier League.

Hearts have conceded just two goals this season, making them the league’s least-conceded team and underlining Asibey’s growing influence at the heart of their defence.

Speaking after Hearts’ victory over Basake Holy Stars last Friday night, the centre-back expressed his willingness to serve the country whenever the opportunity arises.

“As long as I am a citizen of the Republic of Ghana, whenever the nation needs my services, I am ready,” Asibey said.

The defender has established himself as one of the standout centre-backs in the domestic league this season, with his consistent performances earning him three NASCO Man of the Match awards.

He has received the individual honours following matches against Vision FC, Port City FC and Basake Holy Stars.

His performances have strengthened his credentials as a potential candidate for a Black Stars call-up as he continues to impress in the domestic competition.

With Hearts enjoying a solid defensive campaign, Asibey will be hoping to maintain his form and attract the attention of the national team selectors.
