Ashfoam Monthly Medal rekindles Oseikrom golf

The bold decision by Ashfoam to sponsor the Monthly Medal Golf at the Kumasi Royal Golf Course has not only rekindled the competitive spirit among golfers in the Kumasi Metropolis but has also many golfers to fully participate in the competition.

From a low patronage of 30 golfers prior to the intervention of Ashfoam, 70 golfers, including 20 from the Obuasi Municipality, competed for the November  Monthly Medal which was won by M. Owusu-Bonsu with 68 net, with Vivian Dick winning the female division with 64 net.

With 69 net, K.O Agyemang came second in the male division followed by A. Grant in third place with 70 net.

In the female division, C. Awuni came second with 68 net, while M. Oduro who finished with 70 net placed third.

The two top finishers in both divisions were honoured, with giant trophies and Ashfoam mattresses and pillows, while those who placed third received Ashfoam pillows.

The professional division was won by Effa Poku with 74 net, and received an undisclosed cash from Ashfoam.

The youth category was won by Prince Kwao with 32 net, while Kingsley Baffour and Francis Nkrumah placed second and third with  37net and 38 net respectively.

In a brief address, the Captain of the Kumasi Golf Club, Martin Poku commended Ashfoam for rekindling  monthly competition saying their  intervention had not only raised the competitive spirit among golfers, but had also increased patronage.

“We are very grateful for Ashfoam for the sponsorship because it has broadened the base of the competition with a high number of the youth participating in the competition.
