The long-serving goalkeeper, who is embarking on his eighth season with the club, previously donned the captain's armband on a temporary basis during last season's campaign.

Danlad Ibrahim, an accomplished player and a winner of the 2021 AFCON U-20 championship, has now assumed the role of captain on a permanent basis following the departure of former skipper Richard Boadu, who recently transferred to Libyan club, Al Ahly.

Georges Mfegue from Cameroon and Richmond Lamptey have been appointed as vice-captains, as confirmed by head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

In response to the announcement, the newly appointed captain expressed his gratitude, stating, "It’s a huge honour for me to be named the new club captain. I will say it’s a blessing, and I give thanks to the Almighty Allah, to our noble technical staff and head coach, Prosper Ogum, and to our great supporters. I am very grateful for this, and I promise to serve wholeheartedly like I have always done since I joined [this club].”

Danlad Ibrahim first joined the Asante Kotoko family in August 2016. He made his senior debut in 2019, standing in for former captain Felix Annan during the Normalisation Committee’s special competition semifinal victory against Hearts of Oak. He also made a notable league debut against Aduana Stars during the club's victorious 2021-2022 league campaign.
