Legon Cities players safely back in Accra after robbery attack at Toase

An armed robbery operation on the Bibiani-Kumasi highway Thursday dawn also affected football players from Accra-based Legon Cities Football Club.
The robbers blocked the highway and attacked passengers who were using the highway at that time of the night.
Players of Legon Cities and their officials were on their way back to Accra after playing the Samartex Football Club in the Western North Region.

The suspected robbers, after stopping the bus of the team at Toase near Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region, ordered all the occupants in the bus to come down, pointing guns at them.

The robbers successfully took all the valuables such as money, mobile phones and laptops belonging to the team.

The team in a statement dated November 2, 2023, said the team has arrived safely in Accra after the incident and that "The club would make a representation to the police this morning to address the issue."
