Aphro Spirit pledges to develop golf

Premium brand, Aphro Spirit, has pledged its support for golf development in the country after continuously sponsoring competitions in the country in the past.

The outfit sponsored the recently-held golf tournament at the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono in Accra last Saturday which served as a qualifier to the Heritage World Cup in Mauritius from October 11 to 26.

Continuous investment

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, the Chief Executive Officer of Aphro Spirit, Mr Charles Kojo Bucknor, explained that his outfit would continue to invest in golf to change the perception of the sport being for the rich.

He noted that golf offered an opportunity for the youth to realise their dreams through sports and that motivated the company to continue assisting the various clubs to organise competitions.

“As a company, we relate with golf a lot because you have all of the shareholders playing it. In all, we also believe in investing in the development of the youth through sponsoring golf.

“This is because they will have the platform to nurture their talents which will in turn help them realise their dreams through the sport,” Mr Bucknor said.

As part of their commitment to the course, Aphro Spirit is planning to organise an invitational golf tournament in the future as a means of bringing golfers around the country together.

“It is something we are considering in the future because it will be great to have us bring golfers around the country together to compete in an invitational tournament,” he said.
