Ghana's unbeaten super-flyweight sensation Theophilus Kpakpo ‘Theo Lopez’ Allotey is ready to fight for a world title at short notice, with his management declaring that the 24-year-old has earned his place among the division's elite and is primed for the biggest challenge of his professional career.
Fresh from his commanding victory over Argentina's Facundo David Garcia in a World Boxing Association (WBA) final eliminator last month, Allotey's camp is positioning the fast-rising Ghanaian for a championship showdown, with promoters Legacy Rise Sports working to secure the opportunity.
His manager, Sarah Lotus Asare, believes the unbeaten contender's impressive performances, growing collection of titles and rise through the international rankings have put him firmly in contention for a world championship fight.
"He's well positioned to get a world shot at any moment from now, and that's what, as a team, we are working towards together with our promoters," Ms Asare told the Graphic Sports.
Asked whether Allotey would accept an immediate world-title opportunity, she delivered an emphatic two-word response: "We are ready."
Allotey has returned to training following his September 19 victory over Garcia at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, where he dominated the Argentine over 12 rounds to secure a unanimous-decision victory and strengthen his claim to a world-title opportunity.
The performance reinforced his growing reputation as one of Ghana's most promising championship prospects and brought him another significant step closer to boxing's ultimate prize.
Ms Asare said Allotey remained focused on maintaining his sharpness while negotiations continued over his next assignment.
"He's keeping focused for the tasks ahead. Full details of his next fight will be revealed soon," she disclosed.
Although no opponent or date has been announced, his management's confidence reflects a belief that Allotey is ready to make the transition from promising contender to genuine world-title challenger.
He also occupies ninth place in The Ring magazine's super-flyweight rankings, further highlighting his emergence as a contender on the international stage.
While those rankings underline his progress, securing a world-title contest will depend on the sanctioning bodies' championship arrangements, negotiations and the availability of an opportunity.
