A brace each by Sam Adams and Elvis Opoku, and a goal each by Zakaria Mumuni and Bright Adjei gave Aduana Stars a resounding victory which ensured that had one foot firmly into the next round of the competition, if they are able to safe guard the goals in the second leg game on April 18 in Boeny, Madagascar.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring when Jose Adrian tapped home the ball to the blind side of goalie Joseph Addo just three minutes into the game.

However, the Ghanaians came from a goal down to record six massive goals, four of which were scored from spot kicks.

Opoku cancelled the opponents’ lead in the eighth minute through a 25-yard strike and from there on, Aduana piled pressure on Fosa Juniors which resulted in the avalanche of goals, as Sam Adams scored the second and third goals through spot kicks in the 34th and 39th minutes respectively after Bright Adjei was brought down in the opponents’ box twice.

From recess, Aduana continued to mount pressure on Fosa Juniors and dictated the pace of the game which led to the visiting side committing more errors in their penalty box and. in the 63rd minute, Mumuni scored the fourth goal from the spot after he was brought down by the Fosa goalkeeper.

In a bid to increase the tally, Coach Yusif Abubakar brought on Nathaniel Asamoah for Yahaya Mohammed and replaced Sam Adams with Emmanuel Boateng.

Coach Abubakar’s substitutions yielded positive results after Opoku converted a nice pass from Asamoah in the 84th minute to make it 5-1 for the ‘Ogya’ lads before Adjei added the sixth goal in the 89th minute.

The Dutch coach of the visitors, Bob Kootwijk, substituted Rafanonezantoa Duda for Thierry Adrensalna, but his efforts proved futile before Gambian referee Bakary Gassama whistled for the closure of the game
