The 36-hole event is expected to attract some of the country's finest golfers from the various golf clubs - Achimota, Tema, Celebrity, Royal Golf Club, Bok-Nam Kim, among others.

The club captain has revealed that the club is set to host about 100 golfers who will be battling for supremacy in both the amateur, professional and scratch events.

The competition, with a rich history of attracting  the country's best golfers, is in honour of the President of the club and CEO of UT Bank, Prince Kofi Amoabeng.

"The competition, over the years, has produced great champions and this weekend’s is expected to follow the same fashion. It is part of our plans to spread golf in the country. We pushed it to Tafo not because our group CEO is the captain of the club but to spread it wider and allow the people in the area to have a feel of the game.

“Registration has been encouraging and we are expecting that the number will soar before tee-off on Friday,” Ramy Baitie of UT’s  Corporate Division said in an interview.

Special prices, ranging from trophies to souvenirs, will be up for grabs in the UT Bank-sponsored event.

Golfers such as Mike Aggrey, Leonard Kwaku Okyere, Florence Etwi-Barima, Mona Captan, Vincent Attila, Kojo Choi, Cynthia Nyantakyi, among others, are expected to feature in the two-day event.
