The renovation of the Nkawkaw stadium will include the construction of a FIFA standard pitch, Olympic standard eight-lane athletics oval (tartan tracks), multipurpose courts, spectator stands, dressing rooms and offices. It will be funded by the MBDA from government’s One Million Dollar per constituency fund.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, after receiving the technical report, is expected to cut the sod for the project to take off within next three weeks.

Present at the technical assessment exercise of the site, which turned out to be a favourable place for the project, included NSA Eastern Regional Director, Mrs Gifty Fianu, Deputy CEO of MBDA, Lawyer Joyce Boateng, and the Managing Director of Greengrass Technology, Mr Frank Boahene.
