Manyo Plange is ready for Lopez - Manager

Alhaji Mohammed Samadu revealed that the boxer and his trainer, Lartekwei Lartey, had pitched camp at the Green Hill Hotel at Weija in Accra for a four-week intensive training ahead of his departure to the US.

“Manyo is ready, ready to go, ready to fight; it is now a matter of time and if his opponent is also ready,” he told the Graphic Sports in an exclusive interview in Accra last Thursday.

He also disclosed that his outfit had finalised negotiations with the Lopez camp and was now left with the bout purse to be determined.

“We have finished with everything and it is now left with the fight purse. We are determining the fight purse and that will be finalised soon,” he said.

Plange, 33, (21-0-1) goes into the upcoming bout with a clean record in his professional career, while his opponent, 23, has fought 26 times professionally, with one loss.

Plange last fought in December when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Alexis Boureima Kabore in Nigeria.

A fortnight ago on the ‘Night of Akotoku’ bill, the Ghanaian had a four-round preparatory bout with journeyman Raymond Commey.

Alhaji Samadu noted that all was set for the trip to the US and was ,therefore, leaving no stone unturned to make Manyo Plange a world champion.

“Manyo is a fine boxer, he is going to be a world champion. I know he can become a world champion sooner than later,” he assured.
