Kudus injury to keep him out for months

The 20-year-old who joined the Amsterdam-based club suffered a knee injury while playing in Europe’s most prestigious club competition against defending champions. Liverpool FC on Wednesday.

Kudus who made a switch from Danish side Nordsjælland to sign for Eredivisie club Ajax for €9 million, on a five-year contract, had started the game on a fine note until he collided knees with Liverpool’s Fabinho.

Meanwhile the club has confirmed that the player would undergo surgery after assessment of the injury proved it could take months to heal.

This implies the Black Stars would miss his services for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan next month.

Confirming the injury by the club, the twitter feed said  “Mohammed Kudus has suffered a meniscus injury that will keep him sidelined for several months”.
