Jonah Osabutey to stay at Royal Mouscron

Osabutey, 21, joined the Belgian Jupiler Pro League club on loan from German Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen, and won the club's Player of the Season award after some fantastic displays which saw him scoring five goals and providing four assists in 22 outings.

The Graphic Sports can confirm that the former Tema Youth attacker is keen on continuing with Mouscron as he believes it is a good platform for him to excel, and has therefore asked the club to trigger the permanent deal clause in the loan move.

He joined Werder Bremen in July, 2017 and despite netting twelve goals and providing two assists in 27 games, he was never promoted to the senior team, which made him decide to seek for top flight action elsewhere.

Although a centre forward, Osabutey can also attack from the wings and has also been used previously as schemer due to his great ball sense and footwork.

He has featured for Ghana at both the under-17 and under-20 levels, making seven appearances.

Mouscron will pay not less than €700,000 to sign the budding striker on a permanent deal from Werder Bremen.
