“Tagoe is the underdog in this fight so he must condition himself very well. Tagoe is a very slippery boxer but he must be well-conditioned for this fight,” Mr Fuseini told Graphic Sports in an interview in Accra.

Mr Fuseini, who is also a boxing manager, also cautioned Tagoe to psyche himself up for any salvos that might come from the American.

“I know it is going to be a very difficult bout. Garcia is a very skilful fighter but this is boxing and anything can happen,” he stated.

In contrast, Black Bombers coach, Kwasi Ofori Asare, has thrown his weight behind Tagoe to beat his American opponent.

Coach Asare, who also anticipated a tough battle, urged Tagoe to be fully fit for the bout.
“Tagoe must work on his fitness, he must be fully fit, he should prepare for 12 rounds and more,” he emphasised in a separate interview with Graphic Sports.

Coach Asare also tasked Tagoe to ensure that his punches are accurate and powerful during the fight.
Tagoe, 33 (33-1-0), has been sojourning in the United States for the past two years and currently ranks third in the WBO ratings, hence a win over Garcia could earn him a shot at George Kambosos Jnr’s lightweight title.
