Ghanaian forward Majeed Waris is close to joining Turkish side Trabzonspor from Russian club Spartak Moscow.
The 22-year-old passed a medical with the club earlier yesterday and was expected to go through the formal signing later in the evening.
Waris spent the second half of last season on loan at French side Valenciennes, where he scored nine goals in 16 games, but could not prevent them from being relegated.
Though he had expressed his desire to sign a permanent deal with Valenciennes, that could not work out and instead returned to Spartak.
Waris, who has won 15 caps for Ghana, played his first match for his country at the World Cup in Brazil in the 2-1 defeat by Portugal.
He is expected to join the Stars in their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Uganda this weekend.
