These were players whose goal-scoring achievements brought great joy to us in our clubs, as well as to our national teams.
Sadly, today, there is a dearth of world-class goal scorers to animate supporters in Ghana. The lack of potent goal scorers leads to football failure.
Football failure drains energy. Repeated football failure destroys the psyche of the masses. It is, therefore, important to avert this dearth of world-class goal scorers for our own good. It is by averting this dearth of world-class scorers that we can truly revive the joy for our football and secure love and full support for it. We know as a nation what failure in football does to us.
To avert this dearth of world class goal scorers that we are suffering from, we must first understand that the knack to score goals is a special gift of the football playing skills that require special understanding.
Goal scoring that leads to football success does not just happen. For goal scoring to lead to football success, strikers must be groomed and conditioned in such a way that their whole attitude in a match is to seek and find the goals where ever they may be found in a match.
For the legendary Abubakari Gariba of Asante Kotoko, an African Clubs Championship winner, his mantra was "Goal Na Mafefe", to wit, goals I seek.
How have strikers scored goals?
Typically, strikers score by Power, Speed, Predatory, Trickery, Shrewdness, Wizardry, Focus.
All these attributes have been exhibited by our renowned goal scorers of old. If the striking force of a club or nation lacks these attributes they would answer the saying, "if the axe is dull, it would require more strength for little success".
It is, therefore, very important to sharpen the axe for effective and efficient use of strength to achieve goals.
The special gift of goal scoring ability given to players who are called strikers is housed in their minds. It is from the possessor’s mind that this gift is manifest through the body.
Every football striker will be able to access his or her goal scoring talent from the mind. Failure to recognise this, whether deliberately or reluctantly, will consign one to frustration. This is because one sees the potential; however the delivery of it becomes a mirage. It is this lack of understanding that has killed the career of otherwise great talented Ghanaian football strikers.
By football psychology mind training, all the great qualities required for goal scoring by strikers can be readily acquired. Mind training is a very enjoyable exercise. It is thrilling. It is like yeast in dough. Its impact is evident. So long as a football player has a goal scoring gift, mind training would empower the gift, ignite it for goal scoring deployment.

(1). To equip the striker with the ability to score many great goals with his or her infinite goal scoring intelligence that resides in them.

Mind training would do the following for the striker;
1. It would saturate his or her mind with enormous power generating goal scoring activating words.
2. These words by mind training sink into the player’s subconscious mind. In the subconscious mind, the words take on life and power of their own; driving and transforming the striker into an executioner in goal scoring (Jeremiah 15:16) - Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord of hosts.

4. Even though a team of strikers could go through the same Mind Training regimen, each would come out with his or her own efficient goal scoring persona. This is just like how in school we are taught the same things by same teachers yet when it comes to choosing our subjects we go different ways.
5. Mind Training brings out the best personality in the player. It kills indiscipline.
6. It makes the player to out-think, out-plan, out-perform the defenders of the opposing team.
7. It builds immeasurable football stamina into the play of the striker.
Every football striker in Ghana can be mind trained to the place of the super conscious mind where he or she would have access to the infinite intelligence. The infinite intelligence resides in every Ghanaian football striker... not only every Ghanaian football striker but every Ghanaian, if we care to know.
All of us by our individual God-given gifts and talents can perform to global glory and acclaim by mind training; accessing our infinite intelligence.
From the infinite intelligence, a striker’s deadly prowess are manifestly manifest.
A system that benefits a few lucky ones must be discarded; one that guarantees success for all strikers must be embraced.
By mind training, this nation Ghana can transform our football strikers into an army of lethal goal scorers unleashed unto the world football stage of glory.
This is how we can create the headline makers, the crowd pullers; those who send the masses into uproar. It is great goal scorers who make our game what we love to see. This is how we can create the goal scorers we would remember for long.
