Ronaldo, Kaka, Lampard coming for Essien charity match

Ghanaian midfield star Michael Essien is bringing to Accra some of football’s biggest stars, including his Real Madrid teamamtes such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Ricardo Carvalho, Sergio Ramos, Luca Modric, Xabi Alonso, Kaka and Xabi Alonso to participate in another star-studded charity football match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Dubbed the Game of Hope and Inspiration, the June 8 charity football match is championed by Essien as part of ctivities by the Michael Essien Foundation which provides support and inspiration afor the youth in Africa.

Essien, an African Union Ambassador for Peace hosted a similar charity match in Accra two years ago which attracted many world-class players, including Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Emmanuel Adebayor, Nigel de Jong, retired legends like Rabah Madjer and Kalusha Bwalya, among others, who arrived in Accra from London aboard a chartered aircraft.
