The Ghana Football Association(GFA) has dismissed a protest filed by Aduana Stars and Ebusua Dwarfs against Accra Hearts of Oak for failing to pay a fine imposed on them by the Player Status Committee of the GFA.
The two clubs were praying the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA to declare them winners of their league matches against the Phobians at the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast and the Agyemang Badu Park respectively. Hearts won both matches 1-0.
In their statement, both Aduana and Dwarfs claimed that Hearts failed to pay a fine of GH¢ 5,000 imposed on them by the Players Status Committee for wrongful dismissal of their former coach, David Duncan.
However, in its ruling, the Disciplinary Committee claimed that the costs awarded against Hearts by the Player Status Committee were not specific to decisions of the Disciplinary Committee that could lead to a forfeiture of matches.
The committee has thus imposed a fine of GH¢5,000.00 each on the two clubs.
