Princesses arrive in Kumasi, for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier

GHANA’s Under-20 female football team, the Black Princesses, have arrived in Kumasi to round off their preparations for Sunday’s Under-20 Women’s World Cup (WWC) qualifier against Equatorial Guinea at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Princesses host the Equatorial Guineans in the second leg of the second round of the qualifiers and despite leading 1-0 from the first leg, Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says they are not taking the second leg lightly, hence the decision to be in Kumasi early.

They arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital yesterday afternoon and plunged straight into training, an action that clearly indicates their intention to win on Sunday.

“The win from the first leg gives us a slim advantage as in football anything can happen so we are not taking the second leg lightly at all. The Equatorial Guineans are a good side and could pose problems if we take them for granted.”
