Newly appointed coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mohammed Polo is promising exciting times ahead at the club.
And he would prefer that results while he is still at the helm of the club’s technical bench vindicates his appointment rather than any ‘long talk’, saying action speaks louder than words.
Polo was speaking on Monday via phone on Asempa FM and told his host, Enoch Wolanyo Wallace that the club’s victory on Sunday against Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast was just the beginning of the many good things to come.
The match was the coach’s first test since taking over from David Duncan who was relieved of his post under controversial circumstances.
Polo congratulated his players for putting in the extra effort to sustain enormous pressure by the homesters for the opening 20 minutes and then taking control of the rest of the game.
He said his side could have won by a bigger scoreline had the team been able to convert the many chances they created but that is the task he is setting himself, to work on their attack and hopefully with management and fans supporting, the team would pick the results one after the other.
While relishing the opportunity to topple rivals Asante Kotoko from the top of the league table, Polo said the team must focus to avoid slipping off course, and surely the opportunity to play and ditch Kotoko would come.
The ‘Dribbling Magician’ as he is affectionately called, also paid tribute to the Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantekyi, who he said supported his bid to acquire a CAF Certificate B in coaching. He plans to acquire the Certificate A too. Listen to Polo
