Okraku, Senaye elected onto GFA ExCo

Dreams FC president, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, and the CEO of Inter Allies, Eric Delali Senaye, led a group of new faces to make an impressive showing in the National Executive Committee elections of the GFA, booking their seats on the powerful body with impressive tallies.

Okraku polled a mammoth 35 votes to book his seat via the Division One League route, while Senaye secured the same number of votes as Black Stars Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie and Aduana Stars’ Albert Commey, each of whom had 11 votes to book their places in the premiership elections.

Okraku was joined on the four available Division One league slots by re-elected duo Kweku Abaka Eyiah and Wilfried Kweku Osei (Parma) who secured 25 and 27 votes respectively while John Frederick Mensah got 27 votes to book his place.

The biggest casualty in the Division One category was FA Vice-President Fred Crentsil, who missed out shockingly after he garnered only 23 votes.

In the premiership category of the elections, Senaye, Afriyie and Commey were joined by Kumasi Asante Kotoko General Manager Samuel Opoku Nti, Accra Hearts of Oak board member Frank Nelson Nwokolo, and Nana Banyin Eyison of Sekondi Hasaacas who polled nine votes each to book their places.

Vice-chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Kudjoe Fianoo, was the major casualty of the premiership elections as his disappointing tally of four could not guarantee him re-election.

The 10 elected officials join Madam Leanier Afiye-Obo Addy who was re-elected to the committee last Monday to serve four-year terms on the GFA Executive Committee.
