The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has slammed a $30, 000 fine (about N6m) on Sunday Oliseh, coach of Nigeria's senior national team the Super Eagles over his unguarded statement in which he described his critics as insane people.
According to mtnfootball.com, the hefty fine is coming on the heels of Oliseh’s last minute escape from outright sack, thanks to the intervention of sports minister, Solomon Dalung.
Sources close to the sports ministry said Dalung pleaded with the NFF to given the loquacious Eagles manager a second chance, but okayed the heavy fine slammed on him.
“Oliseh will now be fined by his employers for as much as six million Naira after the sports minister advised he be given a second chance,” said a source.
Our source further disclosed that the minister has spoken with Oliseh and warned him to stop his social media rants.
