New Kotoko Board dissolves management

The management team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been dissolved following a meeting with the newly constituted board of the club on Wednesday.

The decision brings an end to George Amoako’s reign as Chief Executive Officer of the club. He departs the club alongside the General Manager, Nana Gyambibi Coker, Nana Kwame Dankwa and the PRO, Kennedy Boakye Ansah.

The Board Chairman of the club, Dr Kwame Kyei, decided not to extend the mandate of his management team after the expiration of their initial three-year term.

According to a press statement posted on the club’s official Twitter handle yesterday, all management members have been relieved of their positions.

Chairman’s message

Mr Kyei thanked them for their services and wished them well in their future endeavours.

“The chairman (Dr Kyei) expresses his deepest appreciation to the members of the team and wishes them well in their various endeavours,” it said.

“He assures the club’s teeming supporters that a new management team would be announced soon to steer the affairs of the club,” it added.

Previous resignations

The dissolution of the management team occurred just a day after the inauguration of a new nine-member board by the Chief of Staff at the Mathias Palace last Tuesday.

Before then, Lawyer Sarfo Duku and Edmund Ackah had both resigned from their respective managerial roles.

Mr Duku was the first to resign in November last year, before Mr Ackah followed in the same vein last March.
