Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho says he does not intend to sign any player from his former club, Real Madrid as is being rumoured.
Though the World Cup is on, club managers are going about their business, trying to recruit for their teams and Mourinho is reported to be mulling the idea of sending Ramirez to the Bernabeu and from there, bring Raphael Varane and Sami Khedira, for the club he left to rejoin Chelsea last season.
Real Madrid have also been linked with a £25 million move for Chelsea midfielder Ramires, and the midfielder has done little to distance himself from the rumours after revealing his admiration for Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, reports Marca.
Speaking after Brazil’s World Cup victory over Croatia, the 27-year-old said: “Ancelotti is a special coach for me, and I really appreciate him. He helped me a lot when I arrived at Chelsea and he was very important in helping me adapt to my position as a central midfielder. He’s a very good coach.”
However, Mourinho insists, the Brazilian is going nowhere.
“Real Madrid know that Ramires isn’t going, but they also know that I'm not interested in any Real Madrid player. Varane and Khedira? I repeat, I’m not interested in any Madrid player, full stop.”
He was, however, confident that Diego Costa's transfer from Atletico Madrid will be completed soon.
The striker, on duty with Spain at the World Cup, has already had a medical with the Premier League side and is expected to leave the Spanish champions for about £30million.
“Costa is a player who I want to have in my team,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper, Marca.
“I have asked my club for him and I have total confidence that we are going to achieve it and he will end us signing for Chelsea.”
Chelsea last week announced the signing of midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona and have already completed the sale of versatile David Luis to Paris St-Germain.
