The 21-year-old defender signed a four-year contract with the Saints on Tuesday from Spanish side Real Valladolid.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the central defender noted that he was ready to adapt to the intensity of the English top flight.

“For me, it has been a dream since I was a child to play in the Premier League and I am very, very happy to be here,” he said.

“We all know it is a very tough league, but I am ready for everything to put all I can into helping the team,” Salisu added.

Despite playing consistently in the La Liga last season, Salisu is yet to play for the Black Stars.

He was called up by former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah ahead of the Ghana’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe and South Africa but injury ruled him out.
