Meteors leave for Nigeria tomorrow

The national Under-23 team, the Black Meteors, will leave for Nigeria tomorrow to engage their West African counterparts in an international friendly on Friday to open the newly built Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo.

The Meteors, who have been gearing up at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram in the past few days, will use the match as part of their preparations for the upcoming All Africa Games qualifiers.

The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, is scheduled to attend the grand opening of the stadium, alongside many international football icons including Brazil’s Pele.

The Meteors are under the tutelage of Coach Malik Jabir and Abdul Karim Zito.
