Olympique Marseille spend between €600,000 and €800,000 per year to protect their players against burglaries, Goal.com has reported.

According to the report, Marseille have hired agents of a private security company that perform round surveillance around each player every half hour.

Over a year ago, four Marseille players - Lucho Gonzalez of Argentina, Ghanaians Jordan and Andre Ayew and Brazilian Vitorino Hilton - were victims of theft.

Just three months ago, striker Andre-Pierre Gignac had items including motor cycles, quads, cassis and buggies stolen from his home, the report stated.

The private security company will help to protect the players and their assets.
