The 24-year-old former Sogndal playmaker is said to have signed a new two-year deal with the Turkish club yesterday after which he quickly switched to training with his new teammates.

An elated Otoo told the Graphic Sports last Wednesday that he was very happy to have penned a new deal with the Turkish side and was looking forward to playing in the top flight against the likes of Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan, and Togo captain, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Otoo, who captained the Black Meteors in 2011, said he was confident of bringing his experience to bear to help his club to complete the season among the top clubs in the Turkish league.

Otoo is among the few Ghanaians to have played for Balikesirspor in recent times after goalkeeper Richard Kingson and Kwame Karikari helped the team to gain promotion to the elite league in 2014 after 40 years in the wilderness.

The former Hearts of Oak skipper will be making his second stint in Turkey after signing a half-a-season contract with second tier side, Umraniyespor, last season.

The young striker is determined to follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest Ghanaian players who took the Turkish league by storm and hopes to become a household name by the end of the season.
