Black Stars goalkeeper, Adam Kwarasey, was expected to rejoin his teammates in Amsterdam yesterday after helping his Norwegian club, Stromgodset, to secure a 1-1 draw against Rosenberg last Saturday.
Kwarasey did not take part in the Stars 6-1 victory over the Dream Team last Friday because Stromgodset had sought the permission of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to enable the 26-year-old join them for a crucial league fixture.
GFA spokesperson, Ibrahim Saanie Daara, addressing the media last Friday said his outfit responded to Stromgodset’s request because Kwarasey would not miss any training sessions while he was away with his club.
“The coach (Kwasi Appiah), in consultation with management, has decided that Adam should join Stromgodset for their game on Saturday. He will join the rest of the team on Sunday, the same day the team will assemble in Amsterdam”.
He stressed that, the gesture was taken to strengthen the relationship between the player and the club.
“This move is for the good of the player and it will protect his future at the club,” Daara added.
Kwarasey helped Stromgodset to stay five points adrift of leaders Molde in the chase for the Norwegian league title after 11 games.
