Kudus is yet to report to the Stars camp since he was named in coach Milovan Rajevac’s team for the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroun.

Addressing the media after the team’s training on Wednesday morning, the GFA boss said the team was ready to welcome the Ajax star to compete in the AFCON.

“Kudus is injured and the medical team of the Black Stars are in constant touch with Ajax to know the best time for him to join the team.

“The team is ready to welcome him into the team as soon as they are convinced of his recovery so he can fly to Yaoundé,” said Okraku.

Kudus has been on the sidelines since November 2021 when he got injured in Ghana’s final 2022 FIFA World Cup Group G qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been on a training tour with Ajax in Portugal as he looks to recover in time to return to the pitch.

Ghana will play Gabon on Friday in their second Group C AFCON encounter since losing by a lone goal to Morocco in their opening match.
