The Ghana international is set to play as an arrow head for the Royal Blues in the Bundesliga as key striker Huntelaar nurses injury.
The head coach of Schalke Jens Keller would start using Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng as a typical striker in the German Bundesliga.
Keller has stated that he is not so much concerned about his key front man Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who has been ruled out for the rest of the year due to injury.
“To provide Boateng in the storm, is always an idea worth it, he can play as a typical striker and also as a supporting striker,” Keller told Sportal.de.
Attacker Adam Szalai has returned to full training for the Royal Blues after a hand operation and is set to partner Boateng in the coming games.
Boateng has netted five goals in eight Bundesliga games for Schalke since his move from Milan during the summer.
