The acting chief executive of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Opoku Nti, has begun a process of meeting with seven key players of the club whose contracts have either expired or are near expiration for a possible renewal.
He has thus written to each of the seven players for a separate meeting to streamline the contracts and iron out the details.
Speaking at his first-ever meet-the-press interaction at the Baba Yara Stadium, the Kotoko boss named the affected players as Ben Adama, Kwabena Adusei, Issah Yakubu, Felix Annan, Eric Donkor and Amos Frimpong.
The media engagement is to be held on the eve of each home match to allow the coach to outline his tactics and other related matters.
A former Kotoko player who scored the winning goal that won Kotoko the 1983 African Clubs Championship, Mr Nti said letters had been handed to the players but the details would be known only after discussions were conclusive.
