Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs failed to take advantage of two early goals to stop a streak of home defeats as they drew 2-2 with Kotoko in their Premier League yesterday at the Robert Mensah Stadium in CapeCoast.
In a tricky game, it was Dwarfs, who had not won a match in their last four outings at their home grounds, who drew first blood in the fifth minute through Frederick Boateng.
Boateng made it two in the 10th minute, connecting from a corner-kick as Dwarfs appeared set for an annihilation.
But Kotoko bounced back almost immediately to call the bluff of Dwarfs with occasional threats, but goalkeeper Patrick Antwi thwarted the early efforts.
With the game swinging from one end to the other, Abdul Aziz connected from a Seidu Bancey pass in the 65th minute to pull one back for Kotoko.
Two minutes later, Bancey was on hand to atone for his earlier shortfalls and succeeded in planting the ball to the blind-side of keeper Antwi, who had pulled off some brilliant saves in the game.
From then on, Kotoko pinned Dwarfs to their own half but try as they did, they couldn’t find the net.
