“It is my dream to get a call up into the national team and appear on the international scene  to exhibit my talents” a statement issued by the National Sports College quoted him as saying.

According to the statement, the 17 year old player was elated for being recognised as the Most Promising Player for the Season, a situation that had boosted his confidence ahead of the 2015/2016 season.

Atta Agyei, who is reported to have signed a deal with Medeama SC and is awaiting the start of the premier league, said he hoped to sign for his new club when the season starts.

"After this award, I know people have their eyes on me. I am training harder, and with God on my side, I’m positive I will make it,’’ he added.

Atta-Agyei said he discovered his football talent at a tender age of six, where he played for King Solomon FC.

His prowess and footballing skills at the Effiduase Presby Primary School qualified his school team to the district, and ultimately to the regionals of the inter-schools football competition at the time.
