I couldn't sleep before Ghana-Germany match in South Africa - KPB
Ghana midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has revealed that he could not sleep the night before Ghana played Germany in a final group match at South Africa 2010.
Boateng, a former German youth player who switched nationality to represent Ghana, said he emotional about playing against the country of his birth.
To compound matters for the 27-year-old, his half brother, Jerome, was playing for the German side.
Boateng told FIFA Weekly that as Ghana come up against Germany again in Group G at Brazil 2014, the Black Stars will be looking to upset the three-time World Champions.
“As for the World Cup game, my first match against Germany four years ago was very emotional. I didn’t sleep the night before,” he told FIFA Weekly.
“A lot of things were happening in my life at that time.
“Now things are different. I’m really looking forward to the match, and as underdogs, we want to pull off an upset.” he said.
Ghana will play Germany on 21 June.
