A board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, has urged supporters of the club to put the Ahmed Toure transfer episode behind them and look up to next season with great hope.
The Phobians, few weeks ago, appeared set to sign Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure, who, indeed, had trained with them and featured in one of their Top 4 games against Heart of Lions in the rainbow shirt, but has reportedly signed for their rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Mr Nwokolo told the Daily Graphic yesterday that even though he was disappointed and so were fans of the club, the supporters must consider it as a temporary setback.
‘This must not discourage our supporters. The future looks positive for Hearts this year,” he stated.
According to him, Hearts had agreed terms with the player for a three-year signing for a fee of GH¢100,000.
“We gave him GH¢2,000 for transport to travel to Abidjan to secure a release letter to Hearts.
“While in Abidjan we remained in touch as he kept sending me whatsapp messages and unknown to me he was dealing with Kotoko,” he recounted.
He disclosed that Hearts were still busily engaged in moves to secure a potent marksman to augment their strike force ahead of next season.
