Although Accra Hearts of Oak’s fans had high expectation of a clash with Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the final of the GHALCA Top 4, that dream final has been dashed and replaced with a less glamourous fixture against AshantiGold.
Despite the absence of Kotoko, the Soccer Miners will prove tough customers for the Phobians in tomorrow’s final at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The two sides would again renew an age-old rivalry in a game which could be won on the bench rather than on the pitch.
On the Phobians’ technical bench is Coach Herbert Addo who has several years of experience under his sleeve, with Ashgold having trainer Bashir Hayford, who has previously guided many of the top flight teams on the local scene to win silverware.
Both coaches are expected to deploy their tactical acumen on the pitch to ensure their respective team's wardrobe is decorated with the GHALCA Top 4 trophy to usher the new season.
Fans of both clubs can expect an afternoon of delightful football from players such as Hearts’ Winful Cobbinah, Owusu Bempah, Robin Gnagne, Emmanuel Hayford and Ahmed Toure and Ashgold’s Tijani Joshua, Lawrence Tetteh, Augustine Sefa, Joseph Ato Bissah and Emmanuel Baffour all battling for supremacy.
