Hearts of Oak to reject offers for Raddy Ovuoka

Board members of Accra Hearts of Oak are set to decide the fate of their Congolese left-back, Raddy Ovouka, who has attracted massive interest from some top European clubs.

Reports indicate that an unknown French Ligue 1 side had proposed a $600,000 offer to prise the player away from the Ghanaian league leaders.

But a highly-placed source in the club confided in the Graphic Sports that the club was not willing to release any of their assets anytime soon.

The source said the club was not aware of any official offer from any club yet and that even if such offer came the club would not release Ovouka now that he has become such an integral part of the Phobians’ set-up.

Ovouka’s exploits with Hearts in the Premier League caught the attention of Congo national team handlers who handed him a call-up for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Senegal in March.

Hearts currently occupy the summit of the league log and are hoping to make an impact when they qualify for the CAF Champions League, where the left-back is expected to play a key role.

The source said even though Hearts would want to recoup their investment by selling some of their prized assets, they would want to play in the continental competition before taking a firm decision on the future of their players.

It is believed that by playing in the continental club competition, the value of their players would appreciate.

This season, the 21-year-old Congolese wing back, whose contract with Hearts is expected to end in 2024, has made 24 Premier League appearances and scored one goal.

Ovuoka is not the only player in the Phobian slde to have attracted interest from international clubs as Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Salifu Ibrahim have also caught the attention of foreign scouts who are ready to send them away to Europe.
