The Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, has denied claims that the club was in talks with former Ebusua Dwarfs tactician, Prof. J.K. Mintah for a possible take over of the Phobians technical bench.
He said the doors were closed on the former Dwarfs coach for the moment as the Phobian have settled on Coach Mohammed Polo at least till the end of the season.
Answering questions from the media at a press conference last Tuesday, Mortagbe conceded that the club once made some contact with Prof. Mintah, but he rejected the offer.
‘We tried to sign on , Professor J.K. Mintah and current Berekum Chelsea coach, Tony Lokko, when we parted ways with David Duncan in November last year,” he said.
"We have been linked with several names including Sabahn Quaye and Joe Addo, but we have not contacted any of them since appointing Polo as head-coach.
"The club is constantly inundated with unsolicited e-mails and CV’s from foreign coaches from South America and Europe expressing interest in coaching roles" he stated.
The Hearts boss also refuted claims that his outfit was close to naming a technical director to steer the affairs of the club.
He also reiterated his belief in Polo’s ability to lead the Phobian to glory.
Polo's current deal as Hearts manager expires at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
