Gladson Awako: I am available for Sunday's clash

Accra Great Olympics skipper, Gladson Awako, says he will be available to feature for his side in Sunday’s derby with Ghana Premier League leaders Hearts of Oak.

Awako told the Graphic Sports Online that he has been released by Black Stars trainer Charles Kwabena Akonnor to join his Olympics teammates ahead of the encounter.

The influential midfielder was expected to miss the Hearts-Olympics match due to his engagement with the Black Stars but coach Akonnor intervened to allow Awako to feature for his team.

Awako who confirmed this, told the Graphic Sports Online that he is ready to help Great Olympics to reaffirm the dominance of the Dade boys over Hearts this season.

“I will play on Sunday against Hearts of Oak, the Black Stars coach has given me the green light to join Olympics for the game on Sunday after which I can join the national team.

“I am ready to help my club record another victory over Hearts of Oak on Sunday. That is the focus on match day and we will work hard to achieve that,” he said.

The former TP Mazembe player scored in the first leg when Olympics recorded a convincing 2-0 win over the Phobians.

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak are looking forward to revenge against Great Olympics to avoid being leapfrogged by arch rivals Asante Kotoko at the summit of the league.
